I found this link on the Amaze GPS Forum (it was on a Pixon thread). A poster found this on a French website, which means it would be based on the European 3G frequencies (or does the hardware itself simply control this?).
I am downloading it as I write, but other then some limited experience with firmware on some older, simpler (non-samsung) devices, I don't feel comfortable being a trailblazer with this one.
My thought is that this might be a good experiment for the memoir - which is basically the same phone. If not, since the Pixon firmware has surfaced, hopefully the behold and memoir's are not to far behind.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JXDBVCXRPS - it downoaded Ok and is for the 8800. I would attach it, but it is 88mb
Note - downloaded an un-zipped. main filee are:
"FactoryFs_M8800_Open_Europe_Common.ffs"
"Rsrc_M8800_Open_Europe_Common.rc1"
"Rsrc2_M8800(Low).rc2"
"amss_compressed.bin"
Plus a BOOTFILES folder with 5 .mbn files
PS2 - I had it all loaded up (on Multiloader) and ready to go (memoir was in bootloader mode), but am holding off to get some input from members with more experience with this - specifically as to whether trying Pixon firmware on the memoir is a good idea or not.
