Hey, has anyone had any luck trying to use the Memoir as a modem for their computer?  There was a thread about it on the official T-Mobile forums, but the consensus there was that the phone is being specifically blocked to be used as a modem.  Any thoughts??

On all the forums, including the behold forum similar to this - it has been found that TMo has blocked 3G phones from doing this.  Some posters had some initial success with the Beholds a few months ago, but TMo slammed the door shut.

So does that mean it's 100% controlled by the carrier, and no matter how much we hack the phone, it simply will never work?  That seems kinda odd... I mean, I know TMo has a new USB laptop stick coming out, but it seems needless to block customers from using a feature that you are already paying for on a phone... or to cripple it at least... hmmm....

I have been told it is a product of the firmware.  However, since a few Behold owners were supposed to have gotten it to work early on, I don't see how it could be the firmware, as there have been no updates.

I do know that many people (including myself) spent hours  (and in some cases days) trying with no success.
