Hello-

I just tried connecting my new Memoir to TK File Explorer for the 1st time, and although i followed the instructions closely, i am receiving a "Error: communication link is lost." message.  Any ideas what might be causing this?

Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem.  I am running on vista 32 and waht i did was reinstall the drivers, which im not sure was necessary or not.  For vista users right lock on the exe and get into properties click on compatibility and i chose windoes xp. Next i figured out that it was the usb port that wasn't working for tk file explorer.  try hooking it up to  different usp ports. Good luck hope this helps.

Try these in succession until one works:

First, make sure your cable is a data cable and not a charging cable. Next, try restarting phone, while plugged in. Make sure phone connectivity is set to "PC Studio" rather than "Mass Storage" or "Media Player", or that's how it is on the Eternity at least. Next, make sure that any Samsung phone program is not running. Next, try restarting computer. Next, try uninstalling drivers, and reinstalling them after restart. Next, try all possible USB ports, and mess with the COM(#) port settings in TKFE.

it is very simple ... TKFileexplorer is not compatible with windows 7 ( maybe also vista) u just have to rightclick on it.. go to properties and in the >Compatibility Mode< select <Windows Xp service pack 2> and u r done... no more connection lost error Smiley
