i dnt kno if this already known but i jus came across it.

press DOWN (dont slide..."press") on the bump(the lil thing ment 2 slide cover off) rather than pushin up(sliding it)


then, put ur fingernail on the rim of the cameras lens(the batteries cover) and slide it up, while still pressing down on the bottom bump....

i tried just like you explained still kinda hard to remove but i think thats a good thing. i like the fact that it is secure!!!
